St. Michael’s Parish has been serving the Catholic community of Sapperton and the surrounding area in Burnaby/New Westminster for 85 years.  We trust that this website will help you become acquainted with us and our outreach.  May your perusal not only demonstrate who we are and what we do, but also suggest ways in which you can be one with us in spreading the Good News, and making Christ present in our world.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, o Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

Monday - Saturday  8:00 a.m.

Sunday  10:00 a.m.

Saturdays:  9:00 – 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.

or by appointment.

Confessions will be heard by Fr. Rossi and Fr. DePaul in their respective offices in the parish center, where they can respect both privacy and the necessary 2 metre social distance. However, this is not an altogether adequate arrangement. Furthermore, there is the reality that in the interest of everyone’s health and safety you need to remain at home, apart from cases of real necessity.

Just as in the absence of the possibility of Holy Communion we are invited to make a Spiritual Communion, so with Confession.  According to the constant teaching of the Church, as the Holy Father has recently reminded us, when sacramental Confession is not possible, it is always possible to obtain God’s forgiveness by an act of perfect contrition, with the resolution to go to Confession at the earliest opportunity.
